We’re very pleased that we’ve been able to get the 24 & 25th of March 2010 for the show, we were always a bit concerned that early February presented somewhat of a risk of bad weather, the end of March is a much better bet climate wise and yet is still early enough to ensure that all are not busy onsite and unable to get away to visit the show.
The launch of The Hard Landscaping Show, www.hardlandscapingshow.co.uk, is also something to celebrate – it will be held alongside World of Paving and we feel it will very much enhance the show experience – we discuss the dynamic between the two events on the HLS blog, have a look, you can find it on www.hardlandscapingshow.co.uk/blog.html

As part of our drive to ensure that both all sectors of the paving market are represented at the show, we are delighted to confirm that HAUC (Highway Authorities and Utilities Commitee) will have a stand at World of Paving 2010.
Clearly local authorities represent a very important part of the specification market for paving so we feel sure that all of our exhibitors will welcome the chance to put their latest and best products in front of this type of visitor.

There’s no question that 2009 is a very tough year economically and the commercial section of the paving market seems to have been particularly badly hit.
This is why we are so pleased that, with the latest sign-ups to the show, we are approaching 25% space sold and this less than 4 months after launch.
And what sign-ups they are – Optimas, the German company that is one of the World market leaders in the manufacture of paving laying equipment, Lonstone, the long established UK based pre-cast paving manufacturer and Boddingtons, the Maldon, Essex based manufacturer of a wide range of extruded thermoplastic products including the well known GrassProtecta and TurfProtecta brands that are exported Worldwide.
We already have a top line up of companies signed up for the show and across a broad range of products – pre-cast paving, drainage, grass reinforcement, paving installation machines, diamond cutting and drilling, resin bonded aggregate systems, natural stone paving, specialist sealants and mortars – so we are well on target to being able to support our claim that there will be something for everyone in the paving industry at World of Paving 2010.

It’s probably the main problem with launching a new show, something that every event organiser faces – every potential exhibitor and every potential visitor wants to know the same thing – who will be at the show?
Of course this is the perfect chicken and egg situation – by definition somebody has to be the first to commit to a stand in the same way as someone has to arrive first at a party!
Fortunately in the first 3 months from launch, despite the problems posed by the recession, we’ve had some excellent industry names come on board – companies such as ACO, Natural Paving, Hansebeton (R2 Paving Solutions) and Stein-Tec to name but a few and we are holding stands for some other big names who are currently unable to confirm bookings due to budgetary restrictions – 2009 is a tough year in this respect.
But you can expect the list to grow steadily month on month and if you are contemplating exhibiting at the show but holding on until you see “company X” has signed up, please do us a favour and sign-up now – in many cases, this can prompt the company you are looking out for (probably one of your competitors!) to sign up themselves!
Best,
Steven
